In today's rapidly evolving educational landscape, technological advancements have become indispensable in shaping the future of learning. One such innovation is Artificial Intelligence (AI), and its impact on education cannot be overstated. Though AI has been around for over 50 years now, it is ChatGPT, an AI language model with over 100 million users, that has captivated educators worldwide. At InteDashboard, we believe in staying at the forefront of technological transformations to empower educators and enrich the learning experiences of students. We recently organized panel discussions titled ChatGPT in TBL: An Enabler or Disruptor? that explored ChatGPT's potential in team-based learning (TBL) classrooms, and now we are excited to share how instructors can leverage ChatGPT to enhance their teaching.
On the panel, we had Annetta Dolowitz, TBL consultant and instructional designer, Brian O’Dwyer, Founder and CEO of InteDashboard, Mark Png, Chief Technology Officer of InteDashboard, and Dr. Sarada Bulchand, Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. The discussion was moderated by Shreya Verma, Director of Marketing at InteDashboard.
With this blog post, we aim to share how instructors can leverage ChatGPT to enhance various aspects of their courses, including writing learning objectives, providing feedback, generating discussion prompts, and optimizing the learning experience for their students.
Instructors can use ChatGPT to rewrite question stems, create grading rubrics, and optimize existing coursework while saving time and enhancing the learning experience. As AI continues to shape the future of education, our key takeaway for you is to embrace this transformation responsibly. Experiment and see if it works for your learning context! However, don't force-fit AI in your teaching if you think it wont help your learning context or meet the learning needs of your students, and be mindful of privacy and security considerations.
Stay tuned for our upcoming blog articles and events, where we will delve deeper into the world of AI and its impact on team-based learning.
